Tas Interviews is an Interview series where I interview at least six fashion and lifestyle bloggers like myself. I’ll ask six questions, 4 based on their blog and two questions based on fashion and lifestyle trends. This interview series will last for six weeks.
Every interview will be published on the 6th day of the week.
Today’s Interviewee is Jenny Yu, a teen lifestyle blogger from Portland Oregon in the USA (America). She’s a developing musician and an athlete. She’s also a violinist and a solo ice skater.
Six Questions
Sharifah: When did you start your blog?
Jenny: I started my blog 2 months ago.

Sharifah: Why did you start your blog?
Jenny: I was really fascinated with the different perspectives of other people. Especially as a high school student, I constantly hear about peers being diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I thought that if I could share my stories and struggles, it would empower or assure other teenagers that things will get better.

Sharifah: Who inspired you to start a lifestyle blog?
Jenny: A girl named Jade Darmawangsa. ( @jadedarmawangsa) Her story to pursue her passion really inspired me to pursue mine.

Sharifah: Since you do sports, what are the advantages and the disadvantages of ice skating?
Jenny: Figure skating has many pros and cons. I grew up with this sport, so it has taught me a lot of life lessons. Because of figure skating, I’m able to get up (figuratively and literally) after I fall. However, like every other sport, there’s a lot of negative drama and expectations as well. Personally, I suffered (and still do from time to time) from eating disorders. Eating disorders and really common in a sport that requires an aesthetically pleasing figure, but hopefully, boundaries will be pushed more now as the world becomes more progressive.

Sharifah: Where do you want to travel and why?
Jenny: Experiencing different cultures is always something I’ve wanted to do. I wouldn’t say there’s a particular country I’d like to visit, but in Asia and Europe tour definitely is on my bucket list!

Sharifah: What’s your favourite recipe?
Jenny: My favourite recipe is definitely my dad’s dumpling recipe! It’s a family secret, so, unfortunately, I won’t be able to share!

Hi! I know this is somewhat off-topic however I needed to
ask. Does running a well-established blog like yours require a large amount of work?
I am brand new to operating a blog but I do
write in my journal every day. I’d like to start
a blog so I will be able to share my own experience and feelings online.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips
for new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it!
