I Tried Pamela Reif’s Recipes From Her Bowl Cookbook: You Deserve This

Hello Readers,

@pamela_rf

I haven’t been blogging for almost two months due to how I was extremely busy with my group project from hell.

During the week while I was busy with group projects and university work, I wanted to try Pamela’s recipes from her cook book since I’ve bought it on amazon during the Christmas holiday.

There were over 70 recipes to chose from.

After going through all of her recipes, I decided to pick four that were easy and accessible for me.

These are the four recipes that I wanted to try

  1. Chocolate – raspberry pudding for breakfast
  2. Oven baked low-carb egg
  3. Strawberry and coconut nice cream
  4. Chocolate nice cream

Chocolate – Raspberry Pudding

I followed the instructions to make this except, I made it quite differently.

Instead of leaving it out for a few minutes to thicken, I left it in the fridge for a few minutes.

The mixture turned out great and I added a few toppings.

and that’s it!

Taste Test

  1. The texture was moist and sometimes off putting but filling.

2. It was hard for me to sallow at times due to its thick texture (that was my fault since I left if in the fridge which made the texture 10x thicker)

3. I couldn’t taste the banana, cinnamon and avocado

Will I make it again?

Yes, I’ve been making it a lot recently for breakfast and dessert without putting it in the fridge.

Oven-baked Low-carb egg and vegetables

For this recipe, I added carrots, red peppers, spinach and two eggs and followed everything on the cook book which I was suppose to do.

The result

Taste Test

  1. Well… it was bland but, the taste of the peppers complimented the dish (10/10 for that).

2. Not a fan of eggs but, it was great and light

3. The seasoning wasn’t enough for me personally

Will I make it again?

Yes, my parents and I enjoyed it and next time, I’ll add more seasoning!

Strawberry and coconut nice cream

Gathered the ingredients, put it in the blender and vola!

After I finished cleaning up, the nice cream didn’t really have an ice cream texture 😦

but, I still ate it.

Taste Test

  1. It was refreshing but it was a bit bitter.

Will I make it again?

Yeah but, I’ll add agave to sweeten it.

Last but not least, chocolate nice cream

Followed the recipe; however, I didn’t like the look of it so I put mine in the freezer for two hours, mixed it and put it back in the freezer for another hour or so and continued until it looked like ice cream.

After, I severed it in a mug and added nuts.

Top: before and bottom: after

Test Test

  1. Rich and chocolatey, which I liked.

2. Putting it in the freezer really helped

Will I make it again?

Yes, I will.
